The lines are available in a wide range of specifications and products offered on the framework include different material types, lengths, lumens and bores. These products are used in conjunction with a number of other products, for example, intravenous cannula and intravenous accessories, to make up a complete system for intravenous therapy. A range of dedicated sets for use with specific products is also part of the framework offer.

Savings opportunities

There are price increases on various high usage products, this is predominantly due to an overall price increase across the supply base. Contributing factors such as increases in raw material costs, energy costs, shipping costs, and COVID-19 all play a part.

To help mitigate cost pressures the following levers can be utilised:

  • Information for Clinical Choice – will be updated with new products post Go-Live
  • Compare and Save – will be available post Go-Live.

Please speak to our Hospital Care Team if you would like further detail on any of the above.

Social Value

From April 2022 all our frameworks have adopted the Procurement Policy Notice 06/20. The suppliers on this framework have demonstrated their plans for:

  • Fighting climate change
  • Well-being.

Sustainability

We are continually working with our suppliers on their sustainability agenda and should there be any developments these will be communicated to all trusts when available.

Clinical Information

  • Product evaluations: Information was gathered through engagement with patient advocates, patients, and carers. Patient requirements were taken into consideration in the final specification and training requirements for patients and carers has been added into the framework’s specification. 53 stakeholders from a broad range of markets and different geographical representations and clinical councils were asked open ended questions which enabled us to drive change into the specification.

Resilience

Ongoing work will take place with all suppliers to check stock levels and resilience in regular review meetings.

80 lines will be delisted.

See our Downloads section for the full list of delisted lines and details of all alternative products.
